From nothing to abundance
Today ’s exposure come from Anna Tsai of Bayside , Wisconsin .
When we move in twenty - one years ago , there were only a few genus Funka and some overgrown George Walker Bush . I find out that the backyard is very loaded , has remains grime , is filled with a lot of shade areas , and is a snack bar dining room for rabbits and deer . I opened up prime beds , worked on the soil , started embed some wet- and spectre - loving industrial plant , off some sick tree , and then replaced those tree diagram with my favorite evergreen plant trees . It was a lot of work , but I ’ve loved horticulture since I was little . I enjoy construe my garden completely changed to what it looks like now .
Working with plastered dirt and shade is all a affair of finding plants that have a go at it those conditions . Clearly these hostas , ferns , and astilbe are perfectly well-chosen .

It ’s hard to suppose that none of this was here when Anna started garden . One of the most inspiring aspect of this view is the great use of vertical accent mark — from the tall treillage , to tall shrubs , to the inflict golden chicken spires of foxtail grass lily ( Eremurussp . , Zones 5–9 ) . They contrast beautifully with lower - growing plants and give the whole garden a copious , three - dimensional design .
Atop the trellis are masses of rich violet blossoms from Jackman clematis ( Clematis‘Jackmanii ’ , Zones 4–8 ) .
Red Asiatic lily ( Lilium , Asiatic hybrid group , Zones 5–9 ) is just beginning to flower .

A bold - leaved hosta ( probablyHosta‘Sum and Substance ’ , Zones 3–8 ) contrast dead with smaller - leaved and needled bush and perennials .
Evergreen bush provide a reliable background of color and interest 12 months of the class , while perennial sum up seasonal color and excitement .
This photo features all the bold , principal colors : blue garden phlox ( Phloxpaniculata , possibly the cultivar ‘ Blue Paradise ’ , Zones 4–8 ) , a red rose , and a yellow lily .

Mixing all sorts of different plant life , grasses , unfolding perennials , bush , and yearly creates a deep , wide-ranging planting with a foresighted season of sake .
What a magical garden ! I desire to wander down these paths through the flowers forever .
Our visit ends with a perfect seating area area , seen through a yellow cloud of marvelous coneflower ( Rudbeckialaciniata , Zones 3–9 ) .
