Looking forward to lilies
Today ’s exposure are from Lee .
Thewinterwas a mellow one here in the Mohawk Valley in central New York State . springiness has been fairly warm , but I ca n’t hold off for some color ! So as a wait - over till things get rockin ’ here , I ’m posting some color from last year . I just need some semblance faster than what is presently happening . I ca n’t even hold back for thetulips . Here are some daylilies(Hemerocallishybrids , Zones 4–9 ) . As always , enjoy every day , every plant , every leaf , every bloom .
Daylilies are in the main happy-go-lucky and comfortable to grow , but in hot , sunny mood , these very dark flowers can sometimes burn in the sun . They do best when they get a little shade in the good afternoon .

Modern hybrid daylilies come in well-nigh every coloring and shape andtextureimaginable , but sometimes a simple , readable , yellow like this is good .
The one vividness daylily do n’t do well iswhite , but these easygoing pale xanthous shape get close .
These daylily bloom of youth look beneficial enough to deplete — cotton confect pinko , with light ruffle petal edges .

A classic , very honest-to-goodness - fashioned daylily variety , Hemerocallisfulva‘Flore Pleno ’ ( zone 4–9 ) is the double - flowered kind of the classicorangedaylily that fly high so easily it is sometimes called a “ ditch lily . ” It ’s gruelling to find aperennialthat is easy to uprise and that brings more bright semblance when it blooms .
Not a daylily at all , this is actually a true lily ( GenusLilium ) . rightful lilies tend to be a little fussier than their daylily first cousin , but the payoff in terms of color and oftenfragranceis so worth it .
advanced daylily breeding is pushing the flowers in ever more elaborate new direction . The petal leeway on this one are intensely ruffled and ruched .

Another frilled peak , this one has a dramatic dark eye .
