Hose bib
I finally got around to reworking the irrigation pipage in the lower part of the garden this weekend , and I now have two new spigots down there . I ’m building a young terrace and took the opportunity to execute the weewee pipes under and through the new walls as I was building them .

When I lived in the states I did a whole peck of garden - weewee pipe installations , and I always used the straight , clean charge plate PVC pipe and the trying on that needed to be glued together .
Here in Italy , nobody sell that system and they use rather the rolls of black credit card pipe that is sebaceous and can not be glued . The adjustment are all screwing - down pressure sensation fittings . At first I was dismayed , but after a few jobs I ’ve become a prominent buff of the black piping systems . No more worrisome about glue , and the system has the added benefit that the connections can be taken apart and re - position whenever appropriate .
The fittings are much more expensive though , and while a PVC articulatio cubiti might be 50 cents or less , a pressure human elbow be about three euros .

Pipe Fittings
My project this weekend involved the installation of two young hose bib and the complete installation took only about fifteen minutes . Most commonly I need to double check the system of rules and re - connect a fitting or two that is leaking , but this sentence everything go perfectly on the first try . Most fantabulous !
The hosepipe bib are a bit different here too , as are the hoses . Italian hosiery do n’t generally come with the thread trying on already affix to the oddment . The nurseries sell hosepipe tubing at about two euro a measure , and then the hosepipe tube can be fitted with ends .

I use yellow hose in the garden , but some of the heavy nursery sell green , blue , red and even pink hosiery . Most garden faucet come with a fitting that screws onto the tap duds and offers a male meet over which a hosepipe ending can be adjure and then stop up with a hosepipe clinch .
Many gardeners use rather the orange plastic Gardena - type press try-on that reserve a hose to be “ clipped ” to a hosiery bib . The plumbery store also trade some nerveless cheek reading of the same style . The hosepipe bib has to have a special appointment that fit inside the hose coupling end , but in the end , this snip and unclipping hosepipe connectedness system is way more commodious than the eccentric of hoses I used in the nation where I always had to get laid and unscrew hoses to move them . I get laid they do sell Gardena hose couplers in the states , but I was always somehow not motivated to use them .
It always feels good to me when I install new spigots in the garden . receive weewee where it is most convenient is a fundamental part of building a garden I think . I have eight hosiery bibs in the garden now and the most late I was cagey enough to position very conveniently on a wall by breaking one of the bottles that are used instead of brick to build the walls and then execute the pipework through the bulwark . Ahh !
