That does n’t have in mind the tropics are perfect , however . Along with a lack of food challenges , there ’s also a lack of drive in many of the people we encountered . Everything runs slack down there . The roads are poor , houses are n’t getting painted , land lies fallow , the gear wheel of regime puff along , and it can take a half - time of day to get a cupful of deep brown bear to your table in a local cafe .

The folks were favorable , well-chosen and sizable … but they were n’t concerned in doing thing today . mayhap tomorrow . Or next workweek . Or year .

The same seems to be a pattern across the equatorial regions . How many swell civilizations or powerful nations lie in that favored climate ring ? Mmm … let ’s see … Brazil , maybe ?
