So tonight upon insert the farm – there it was – an older tractor spray the entire orbit right behind our property with Round Up . I ca n’t consist – it was tough to take and see – and we both run short from through every chain of emotion in about 30 bit .

It is of import for us to separate everyone not just about all of our successes , but also when thing do n’t go our fashion – and that the tangible key in spirit and horticulture and in everything – is to just simply never give up – no matter what .

But here is the truth of the affair . Our intact blog and website , and our dream – was to show that this can be done anywhere , on a small amount of estate . Yes , buying more property might give us a polisher – but it also goes directly against our philosophy of living more mere . It also suffer us both more to know that not everyone out there has the ability to drop a line about an issue and have the sort of follower and help oneself that we have been bless with – and it is THOSE hoi polloi that we desire to help the most -and why we do what we do .
As sad as it is – under the law in our state here – we just had no right or power whatsoever to stop them from planting . We lecture with several attorney , every State Department way that we could think of , and the answer from all was a resounding “ it ’s not mediocre , but it is the law . ” We get that everyone has right to their land – we just bid and hope that somewhere there could have been something that would have protected us and our bees , volaille and gardens from having to be let on to herbicides and insecticides . In fact – it was difficult today explaining to everyone we blab to that we were not a commercial enterprise and did not do this to make money – but to help others free through our web site .
We feed our entire kinfolk from that land – and have done so for going on 5 years now . I am sure if we were to have to pay off for the 3500 + Irish pound of vegetable we develop annually , and the testis and honey we consume each twelvemonth from our trivial “ garden ” as the farmer laughingly said to us – that the note value would be considerably more than expand $ 4000.00 he commit on his harvest of 8 Akka of noggin . With that say – we are workers and we are positive hoi polloi and we will continue to be both . We will keep on writing about the best ways to garden , and keep on writing our recipes and the story of our farm . I am emotional that our Word will be issue this come December , and that it is the real fib of everything that go into build up our little farm – the good , the heartbreaking , and the will to always survive .
We will not step down . We will keep fighting and growing and work hard at our dreams . Thankfully we pulled several sample distribution from the soil yesterday – and will continue to do so all summer to at least have grounds if anything does contaminate our commonwealth .
