In a Vase on Monday. White Icicles.

In my vase this week I have used someRibes ; Flowering Currant , which I have brought into flower in the warmth of the house . There is a assortment call in ‘ White Icicles ’ which has pure white flowers , but this is not really that one , so the form of address is misleading . If you force pinkish Flowering Currant into flower in the business firm , it will always produce white bloom like these . Some citizenry do n’t wish the spirit and so wo n’t fetch it into the household . I quite like it . I have remark before that for me , Ribesis like Proust ’s madeleine ; it takes me straight back to my puerility , in the way that only a smell can do . I also broughtForsythiainto the mansion to unfold up too soon . There are a few hazel catkins and one spray ofCoronilla valentinasubsp.glauca‘Citrina ’ . This adorable bush has been in flush for ages . I picked a nebuliser ofLonicera x purpusii‘Winter Beauty ’ for fragrance . This endearing bush is compensate in flowers unlike the thin blooms of the more normally seen , winter floweringLonicera fragrantissima . I finish of with a couple of hellebore . I know they tend to flop in a vase but never mind , they look very decent at the moment . That ’s interesting about the Ribes . I love whitened combinations and this one is beautiful . I also lie with that vase with the hummingbirds . The whole matter sings of spring to me .

I ’m surprised to study that pink ribes opens as white Chloris . The plant world never give up to amaze . Anyway it bet more attractive in a vase as do its companions .
