Ngesrepbalong Village has been designate as an ecotourism village . To support the realization of the ecotourism village , the local community is conduct out conservation activeness for rarified plants from Mount Ungaran , including orchids .

So far , 26 rude orchid species have been conserved and are maintained in a screen house called Omah Anggrek . To complement Omah Anggrek , in 2023 the UNNES Community Service Team has developed a simple-minded - weighing machine plant tissue culture laboratory ( KJT ) so that preservation activists can propagate orchids and other plants effectively and efficiently .

Propagation using KJT requires especial skills that environmentalist do not yet have optimally . Therefore , in 2024 , the Community Service Team of the Biology Cluster , FMIPA UNNES , will carry out training action on plant extension using the KJT technique . The training bodily process was attend by 10 environmentalist from the local settlement start on August 2 , 2024 , and was carried out in stages .

The training was formally opened by the Head of Ngesrepbalong Village , Mr. Riyono . In his remarks , he stated that the acquisition of carry out the KJT technique in a simple - scale research lab not only play an important role in the preservation of native orchidaceous plant from Mount Ungaran but also have the potential to propagate various other plants that are in demand by the community and have high economical time value .

High exuberance was also shown by the training participant who felt gallant to gain fresh skills in plant extension . They are committed to employ the science lab deftness and skills train in supporting orchid and other plant preservation programs and strengthening the appeal of educational activity and ecotourism that are being develop in the hamlet .
