Gardening with every shade of green
Today we ’re in New England visiting Lea ’s garden .
A pretty witching double of a beautiful garden — it looks like Lea has fuse every possible shade of cat valium to make this perfectly lush paradigm come together .
This is Lea ’s “ Moss Mandala , ” part of a bigger garden that she calls “ The Puddle Garden , ” as it fills with water for up to five months of the twelvemonth . Everything plant in that country can take moist soil andsurvive the implosion therapy . Lea raised this orbit up 8 inches , but it still gets flooded . The Moss Mandala is made up of Scotch and Irish moss ( Saginasubulata‘Aurea ’ andSaginasubulata , Zones 4–8 ) , which , despite their common name , are not truemossesbut rather bantam flowering industrial plant that mimic the tone of moss to make this beautiful pattern .

A beautiful grassy walk through the garden includesstepping - stonesset here and there in the sward . sink the stones down in the ground a little shuffle for easygoing mowing .
A diverseness of trees and bush , many of them conifers in different coloration and soma , creates a tapestry of different shades of greens as the backdrop . In front , the white blooms of apanicle hydrangea(Hydrangeapaniculata , Zones 3–9 ) radiate against the black greens behind them .
