Some other horticultural events happening in the greenhouse

The South African bulbs are starting to flower , as they are in many glasshouse in the Northern Hemisphere ( I just learn a pic of the same plants blooming in the greenhouses at the Denver Botanic Gardens ) . The show here usually starts with the ROmulea species , follow by the Babiana , gage up with the Lachenalia – one of my preferred genus – and a genus , I should mention which was terribly popular also in the Victorian era , but just seek to incur any today , by from the few new hybrids marketed in the past few years under the steel name ‘ African Beauty ’ strain .

Do you remember back in September when I decided to raise some cold-blooded weather annuals for the glasshouse ? Well , maybe it was too frigid in the greenhouse , but most are still growing , but they are very modest . With the lengthening day , I can see modification however , and some , such as this Godetia above are embark on to grow larger leaves .

Tuberous tropeolum take over the greenhouse .

I know , I ca n’t get enough of these rarer tropeolum , but they are not that unmanageable , if one can keep them nerveless ( most will sulkiness and go abeyant if daytime temps stay over 65 degrees ) . These Chilean and Argentinean treasure are endearing , and they are gross for raising on those little trellises one find out in the horticulture decor aisle at discount stores , which typically are useless for most anything else , much speaking .
