Othonna capensisis a low - growing succulent with a spreading habit . It can reach a height of up to 4 inch ( 10 cm ) and spread up to 1 foot ( 30 cm ) . The leaf are vertical , arrange spirally , pickle - shape , and can grow up to 1 inch ( 2.5 cm ) long . They are blueish - fleeceable but can take on yellow , lilac , and cherry-red hue when try .
The blossom are yellow-bellied , daisy - similar , about 0.5 inches ( 1.3 cm ) in diameter . They appear from mid - spring through nightfall and sometimes even year - round . The efflorescence emerge from pea - shaped , violet - hue bud and stand up up to 2 inches ( 5 cm ) above the leafage .
