She says,“Here are some range of a function from a child ’s garden I designed and establish for theTopsham Public Libraryin Topsham , Maine . They had an exist volute path that was place out by a male child scout several year earlier . They wanted a “ rainbow garden ” theme , with something going around the helix . The land site is very sunny , hot , and sandy , and they did n’t need a huge upkeep concern . I clean rugged plant life that would not need irrigation after the first year .

“ I planned the discharge of the rainbow in four sections : red & pinkish , yellow & orange , green & white , and blue & purpleness . I used plants that would attract butterflies , shuttle & bees , and that had interesting textures . The garden was installed in 2011 . Most of the pictures are from 2012 , its second time of year .

“ We had a terrible problem with Asian garden beetles the first summer – they munched to the undercoat achillea , salvia , sunflower , heliopsis , echinacea , and centranthus . The second summer was much better -possibly because the garden did n’t get much water and the beetle chow need some stain wet to hatch . I have a little concern doing garden design / facility / redevelopment in Brunswick , Maine ( ThistleGaard Perennial Garden Design ) . ”

So prissy , Sarah ! I love how you followed the line of the spiral , and the plant all seem like stalwart classics – sure to thrive and please . I ’ll be taking note for my newly - sunny front pace that I ’ll be contrive this outflow . Thanks !
