To celebrate Halloween, here are 10 examples of plants fit for a horror film

As gardeners , we can rightfully apprize the knockout that descend with all of the plants we get . I thought it would be cool ( or should I just say creepy ? ) to showcase some of the more strange and bizarre plants that are out there . Some of these industrial plant seem to be straight out of a revulsion movie . Imagine encountering plants that bet like bat , orb , and claws . You may not need to take the air alone in the garden after seeing these .

1. Bleeding tooth (Hydnellum peckii)

This beneficial fungus actually “ bleed ” bright red juices when it ’s young . It grows throughout North America but can be encounter all over the world . The fungus attach itself to tree roots and give out minerals and amino battery-acid . Other nickname for this fungus admit “ strawberries and cream ” and “ the devil ’s tooth . ”

2. Black bat flower(Tacca chantrieri)

This near pitch - inglorious industrial plant definitely has a scarey appearance . There are n’t many plant that have ear and whiskers , but the cricket bat flower does . This uncommon plant grows wild in China but requires careful attention if develop in North America . Of course , not everyone is a fan of garlic ’s taste or typical smell . So why is this works on the scary list ? One give-and-take : vampires . I need you to be secure from our blood - sucking friend , so put it around your seam , tie it to your garden prick , or simply wear down it over your cervix .
