Scent in the Garden. September.

I have been   trying to see something fragrant in the garden for each calendar month of the year and I   have just realised that today is the last mean solar day of the calendar month .   I have still not caught up with my blog version , but I had a precipitous sniff round the garden to see what I could find for September . There are still rose and the rum sprig of honeysuckle but that is shaft . I wanted something that is in season . In a great deal , I have the adorable fringe flowers ofDianthus‘Rainbow Loveliness ’ . The aroma is mellifluous and delicious .   They are easy to develop and quite delicious . They are rather late get into flower but I sow the seeds late .

I have another dianthus which is always late make out into flower . It isDianthus rupicolaand it come from Sicily . It has very foresightful stems and glaucous foliation . It   is endearing for pick . It does n’t have a very hard scent but it is very pretty .

A endearing recent flower shrub calledHeptacodium micinioidesis the star of the September sweet-smelling plants . It is sometimes called ‘ Seven Son Flower of Zheijiang ’ because each clustering has seven flowers . It comes from China . butterfly seem to relish its fragrant flower and so do I ; it smells delicious .

So there we have it , not very rich pick for this month , but at least I detect something . I dare say there are other flowers which I have drop , but I have not time to do any more sniffing today . Have you anything smelling good in the garden this month ? It does n’t seem to be a very practiced month for scent . Not in my garden anyway , although heap of roses are in heyday . But I already prove those in June .

I am sorry if I have n’t catch up with my web log reading yet ,    it may take a day or two . I am just off to see whether   Ali   at   the longgardenpathwho is the world-beater of scented plants has station this calendar month . She adores scented plants and I am certain she will have something to surprise us with this month as usual .

‘ Rainbow Loveliness ’ has a wonderful smell but mine bloomed in the first place . Cyclamen purpurascens is quite fragrant in my garden right now but mostly , there ’s the fragrance of fallen leave and other autumn scents .

calculate at your Dianthus , especially that first fringe one , has me wondering why they ’ve disappeared from my own garden .

What a nifty idea . Yes , I guess there is always something with a sweet-scented scent in the garden – even in the centre of winter , if you count crushing evergreen plant leaves and whiff the scent . Right now , I have a wild mint get in the garden that is rather characterless in its looks , but has a heavenly scent . I will seek to link up in this meme sometime in the future . 🙂
