If only you could smell them!
Today Nancy Mellen is share exposure of some of her beautiful roses .
Having moved into this passe home in Hingham , Massachusetts , 32 years ago , I have spent much of my time plant new garden , as it was fundamentally a blank slate when we moved in .
This first surface is ‘ John Cabot ’ , which is one of the adventurer roses from Canada ( a serial publication of roseate hybrids developed in Canada brag olympian winter hardiness and disease electrical resistance ) .

I particularly likeold roses , and this is one of them , the Apothecary rose orRosa gallica officinalis . Like many old rosebush , it will only bloom once in the spring , but thefragranceand vigor are worth it .
Another older rose , ‘ Rosa mundi ’ has pink , striped bloom .
Wider persuasion of ‘ Rosa Mundi ’ exhibit its growth riding habit , loaded down with early summer blossom .

‘ Tuscany ’ is another old blush wine and has a lovely dark flower .
‘ Eden ’ is a favorite of mine and is a lovely rambler , but a drawback is that if it rain when it ’s in prime , all the efflorescence turn brownish and mushy . It will form new blossom , though .
This is a damask rose named ‘ Leda ’ . Damasks are a group of old rose wine famous for their rich fragrance .

This is often called the carmine - leafed rose , but its prescribed name isRosaglauca .
This last one is the well - known ‘ Fairy ’ come up , which is notably respectable and vigorous , produce huge numbers of minuscule , pink peak .
