One of our biggest horticulture interrogative that we get each spring is ‘ What do you do with all your radishes ? ” .

We plant our first row in early spring , and every two weeks we plant an extra course . We keep this type of succession planting all summertime long . This will help us ensure that we have just the right amount to eat and train in formula , and not too many that will eventually split and become better suitable in the compost bin rather than on the dinner party table .

Most often we piece , sporting and piece / dice our radish and place them in a bowl of pee for easy snacking .

Of course , the most coarse way we use our Raphanus sativus longipinnatus are to wash them right after picking and slice / dice them to consume fresh . The key to keeping them crisp – uncontaminating and cut them as soon as you may , and place them in the refrigerator in a dish of water for loose access code for nosh or adding raw to your pet salads and recipes .

However , there are many other direction to apply your abundance of radishes this year . Most of the recipes take only a few second to prepare , and you might be scandalise at how the radishes change smell .   Those radishes that were once full of heat , tend to simmer down to a doable level once sautéed or prepare .

One of our favorite ways to use our abundance of radish is to bring them to a simple coleslaw mixture which will then be tot to a variety of dish that we make throughout the week .   We use the coleslaw on unproblematic sandwiches , breakfast omelets , and even over a simple piece of grill chicken . The possibilities are endless , once you get to think outside of the box .

We veer each end off the radish before using in this recipe .

Ingredients:1/2 cup water1/4 cup sugar1/4 cup distill white vinegar1/2 cup tear up / julienned carrot1/2 cupful shred / julienned radishKosher salt

1 . In a small saucepan , combine the water , sugar , and vinegar and bring to a boiling point .

2 . Transfer the acetum assortment to a bowl and cool .

3 . append the carrot and radishes , mix in well , and season with salt to sample .

4 . Set aside to marinade for 30 moment or entrepot in the refrigerator up to overnight .
